The team you’ll be part of

Mobile Networks is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN). 

There are a few slightly different departments possibly interested in your experience. 

What you will learn and contribute to

Refining and implementing user stories with a team to deliver new features for our products. Providing unit, module, integration and end-to-end tests for the developed software. Taking part in implementation & testing cycles as part of our scrum teams.

Your skills and experience

  • Enrolled in Master’s or bachelor’s program
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
  • Java Development Knowledge
  • Able to communicate in English

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Linux operating system

Working Student – FPGA Algorithm Modeling Engineer

The team you’ll be part of

You will join the Mobile Networks RAN Business Unit and will enjoy our culture of innovation, openness, discipline, simplicity, accountability, and profit mindset.
Your future teams are developing Nokia 3GPP mainstream radio technology products and solutions including cross-technology responsibility (Multi Radio Access Technology).
Your unit’s main priorities are flawless execution of System programs including Network Management & Optimization and attached services. 

We work in small team in an environment where openness, trust and improvement mindset are encouraged, we work in agile style, having daily/weekly meetings with team mates sharing the progress and challenges. 

As part of our team you will contribute to simulation in Matlab of FPGA functionalities for 5G telecommunication system. You will work in the team responsible for generating test vectors required for testing of the system.  

What you will learn and contribute to

  • You will develop extensive knowledge of 5G system physical layer, Nokia hardware platforms and the way our customers are deploying them.
  • You will learn how to manage individual priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • You will contribute in creation of bit exact Matlab models, adding new functionalities.
  • You will be responsible for continiuse delivery of test vectors, debugging and fixing issues.
  • You will contribute in tools&scrips creation for automation.

Your skills and experience

You have: 

  • Education: on-going studies or already gained BSC / Engineer in: Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics  or a similar subject
  • Knowledge of Matlab, Python, Linux shell
  • Good knowledge of English (both spoken and written)

It would be nice if you also had: 

  • Knowledge of 3GPP standard
  • Knowledge of FPGA designs will be an advantage
  • Understanding of technical documentation and technical writing skills
  • Good mathematical skills will be an advantage

Working Student – Software Test Engineer

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Status of student of Telecommunications or a similar subject
  • Knowledge of mobile telecommunication systems such as 5G, LTE-A
  • Knowledge of Unix, Linux (command line)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP Networks
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Team player spirit and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with Perl or Python programming language and in test automation
  • Knowledge of 5G architecture, especially gNB network element
  • Familiarity with software testing
  • Knowledge of Robot framework and GIT version control system

Working Student – Software Engineer C/C++

Daily activities

You will act as a team member in one of our short term projects supporting tools and new features which are part of our ongoing projects in embedded software.

As part of our team you will be responsible for:

  • in addition you will have the opportunity to write your Thesis in co-operation with Nokia

Working Student – 5G L1 FPGA Design Engineer

The team you’ll be part of 

As part of our team you will contribute to requirements analysis and decomposition, design, implementation and verification of FPGA IP components for 5G telecommunication system. You will be responsible for creating design in RTL code, verification of IP components in UVM, problems investigations and ensuring quality of provided IP Components.
You will develop extensive knowledge of 5G system physical layer, Nokia hardware platforms and the way our customers are deploying them. You will contribute to develop innovative solutions to address Nokia strategy in the 5G domain and beyond.
This is an offer for working students (students aged below 26).

Your skills and experience  

  • Education: on-going studies or BSC / Engineer in:  Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics or a similar subject
  • Good knowledge of English (both spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of FPGA designs and FPGA EDA tools (Quartus/Vivado)
  • Knowledge of Ethernet standard is an advantage
  • Knowledge of 4G/5G standard is an advantage
  • Knowledge of version control systems (GIT, SVN)
  • Understanding and ability to work with technical documentation for digital systems (microprocessors, integrated circuits, embedded systems)
  • Ability to analytical thinking and solve technical problems

  • General understanding of FPGA technology

  • Low level/platform programming & debugging tools knowledge

  • Good programming skills with script languages (e.g. Python, Perl, Tcl) is an advantage
