Saint Nicholas Day

December 7 we celebrated a special event event in our TC – the final of Christmas Charity Donation, which we organized together with Cracow University of Technology (Politechnika Krakowska).

The children visited our laboratories and learned what we do in Krakow. At the end of the visit, each child received a gift from Santa.

Meetings like this are very important for us. We are convinced that we will take part in this event next year.

Kraków Independence Run

Once again we had the pleasure to be a sponsor of the Krakow Independence Run. This year’ edition was a special character – it coincided with 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence.

Once again we had the pleasure to be a sponsor of the Krakow Independence Run. This year’ edition was a special character – it coincided with 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence.

Independence Run it is an event that has become a permanent item in the calendar of events in Krakow. It was already the 5th edition, and we proudly one again was a sponsor. As in it not difficult to guess, also among our employees, the run is very popular. This year 27 people run!

The total results of our colleagues made us take third place in the “team category” (table). We are convinced that in the next year we will also support the organizers and the runners.

Nokia at night arouse emotions

Malopolska Scientist Night has exceeded our wildest expectations. During the whole night we were visited by over 400 people who visited the laboratories, watched demonstrations, soldered and flew with the mission to the Moon.

Malopolska Scientist Night has exceeded our wildest expectations. During the whole night we were visited by over 400 people who visited the laboratories, watched demonstrations, soldered and flew with the mission to the Moon.

We wanted to show our visitors what we do at Nokia Kraków. This was a unique opportunity to see for yourself how the world of the latest technologies is created.

We opened our laboratories, where visitors saw our base stations, learned how the Faraday cage works and were able to play the role of a tester and using the climate chamber they could simulate extreme weather conditions and check how our phone behaves. In addition, our employees talked about what we do and made our guests aware that our work affects their lives basically every day.
The workshops conducted with IoT and the basics of electronics were very popular. Children and adults built stations based on a microcontroller and then they had to build the control panel and remote connection with themselves.

The icing on the cake was the flight to the moon. We took visitors on a space journey. They could find out what Nokia would do on the moon and try to steer the original Mars rover.

Next year we will open Nokia again at night, we will be prepared for even more people, and our attractions will surprise once again! See you later!

Basketball League Season

Basketball League season full of emotional ups and downs came to an end. Nokia Kraków team finished with a respectable 15 record and good 5th place.

Only when the excitement was over, the team players could calmly answer themselves to a question about their feelings and impressions: “We feel unfulfillment; especially because we had a chance for a 3rd place three games before the finals. That is why we stay hungry now.”

The team played 10 games, scored 15 points, and finished with 5th place. “We are convinced that in the next season we will score better, and we will have the podium.
