Line Manager (Cloud Infrastructure)

The CNS Cloud Domain team is an organization under CNS Services & CARE.  The cloud Domain is responsible for the timely, high-quality delivery of Infra platform across Nokia CNS global customer base.  We are seeking an outstanding LM to lead our Cloud Infra Solution Architecture team. The ideal candidate has the right combination of technical, operational and leadership skills to be an effective leader and manager of the Cloud Infra Sol Architecture team.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Build, mentor and lead a team of expert Cloud Infra Domain architects responsible for architecting and delivering Cloud Infra solutions to Nokia CNS’s global customer base. The architect team is responsible for the architecture and design of the customer’s Cloud solution network and deliverables can include Cloud Infra HLD (High level design) and LLD (Low Level Design).
  • Cloud architects are trusted technical advisors to both Nokia and Customer engineering teams and the LM is expected to complement this capability of the team.
  • The LM will set individual and team objectives aligned with organization KPIs including timeliness, delivery quality and cost targets. Manage and Ensure compliance and conformance to organization KPIs including competency and project level cost adherence.
  • Develop an effective ecosystem of subcontracting and 3rd party suppliers who can deliver with the quality and cost target goals of the organization.
  • Function as an escalation point when needed.
  • Outstanding communicator who can interface at a senior management level with both Nokia and Customer management teams.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Typically the position requires 7+ years of extensive relevant experience including 5+ years as a technical LM on Cloud arch deliveries.
  • Strong Experience / Mastery of Cloud discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and practice.
  • Track record and deep understanding of Nokia CNS Cloud Blueprint architecture (NCP) as an asset.
  • Expert in multiple Cloud areas – NCP, OCP, AWS with a strong IP networking background
  • In-depth knowledge of private and public cloud technologies and excellent understanding of the CI/CD automation.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and familiarity with cloud security best practices, compliance, etc.
  • Highly desired: Previously worked as an expert integrator troubleshooting complex problems in Cloud deliveries with Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and Automation technologies.
  • Knowledge of building cloud data centers is a plus.
  • Experience in project costing, E2E solution delivery and cost management.
  • BS in Engineering / Computer Science is required. Masters preferred.

Technical Project Manager (Cloud Infrastructure Delivery)

The CNS S&C Cloud Domain team is responsible for Infra platform deliveries including NCP/OCP platforms, support of Orchestration/Automation and Multi-Vendor Cloud technologies.  NCP is Nokia Cloud Platform built on RedHat OpenShift (OCP).  The emphasis, as always, is Quality and Timeliness.

We are seeking an outstanding Technical PM to lead deliveries of NCP/OCP Infra Platforms and the support of Multi-Vendor Cloud technologies.  Our customers are the largest telecom providers in the world with deep emphasis on reliability and performance. The Technical PM with CNS is a Technical Management role with emphasis on Technical The candidate is highly proficient in Cloud technologies (NCS, Kubernetes, OCP, NCP), has a “roll up your sleeve, hands-on” mentality and unafraid to get out of comfort zones.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Technical Management and control implementation of Cloud Infra projects with a focus on NCP/OCP, Orchestration (NCOM) and Automation (NCD) platforms
  • Manages all technical aspects/activities within the project related to infrastructure and Cloud  – including requirements, architecture, development, integration and testing (including Customer ATP). Follows the Nokia AIM (Advanced Integration Methodology).
  • Primary customer interface for management aspects related to the technical solution. The ability to quickly relate to technical issues and proactively assemble the right team and drive to resolution will be a strong added plus.
  • Obtain formal customer sign-off on requirements and technical acceptance of solution.
  • Technical leadership and Support PTA (Project Turn over to Delivery) process by reviewing and commenting from a technical perspective on project SOW (Statement of Work), BOM (Bill of Material), Solution Architecture and expected timeline.
  • Identify CR (Change Request) opportunities. Coordinate technical analysis with SA and costing of CRs. Plan and track execution of CRs approved by PM

 

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • The individual has 5-7 years of experience, technically managing and leading project deliveries for customers’ core telecom networks with a focus on Infra Cloud Platforms.
  • A deep, *hands-on* understanding of Cloud technologies is required – including Native Cloud, OCP, VMWare, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Good understanding of Nokia CNS Cloud Blueprint architecture as an asset.
  • All of our Core Applications are Cloudified/Native Cloudified (VNF/CNF) and a strong understanding of multivendor Cloud technologies is required to support onboarding tasks.
  • Preferably, should have worked as a lead integrator or a solution architect in delivering complex software systems. An excellent software background & deep understanding of software, API integration. A minimum BSEE/BSCE/BSCS degree. Masters preferred.
  • You will be working with Integrators/Solution Architects from local and Global Delivery Centers and will need to be flexible and adaptable to working styles, cultures and time zones.
